Hospitalist (3-309-1027) The Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a full time Intermediate Care Hospitalist.  This service provided 24/7 inpatient coverage and serves to expedite transfers from our acute care units, the Emergency Department and the Medical Intensive Care Unit.  The IMC team helps to reduce length of stay in the ER and on the acute services, costs per case and re-admission rates, as well as increase admissions to the medical service, free up beds in the intensive care unit for more critically ill patients, ensure that 80-hour weekly limit on duty hours is enforced for residents, and direct admissions as needed.  While this is a non-teaching service, opportunities are available for teaching.

The Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting full time hospitalists.  These positions will provide inpatient attending coverage on our non-teaching services. We staff our observation unit, general internal medicine non-teaching service, and transplant medicine service. We also provide medical consultations for general medicine, transplant medicine, and co-management of surgical services.  Please indicate in your response if you have a special interest in transplant medicine.  Opportunities for full-time nocturnists are also available. 

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.  These positions require a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting.  Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Location: Baltimore, MD - Specialty: Internal Medicine, Infectious Disease

Infectious Diseases Clinician Educators (03-309-1015/1016).  The University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Department of Medicine’s Infectious Diseases Division and the Institute of Human Virology’s Division of Clinical Care is seeking full-time clinician educators.  Responsibilities will include providing comprehensive clinical care in both inpatient and outpatient settings to patients with infectious diseases, as well as participating in educational activities directed at fellows, house staff and students.  Opportunity for additional involvement within the division’s inpatient infectious disease teaching services and antimicrobial stewardship programs are also available, if interested. 

Applicants must be board-certified in internal medicine; board eligible or board certified in infectious diseases and eligible to obtain an independent Maryland license.  Candidates must demonstrate an interest in the clinical management of complicated post-surgical infections, as well as other infectious diseases.

Expected faculty rank for this position is as an entry level Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
