The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Human Genetics is seeking an ABMGG eligible/certified MD or MD/PhD clinical geneticist with an interest in metabolic diseases for an exciting clinical and scholarly position. The candidate will be expected to have primarily clinical and teaching responsibilities; appointment and compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications. However, candidates with funded research programs are also encourage to apply. The successful applicant will join a well-established, innovative, busy and growing program. There is excellent departmental and institutional support and mentoring for individual and collaborative scholarly activities. The Division of Human Genetics provides comprehensive clinical genetics services to the entire institution in pediatrics and adult medicine, and collaborates with other genetics services of the institution including cancer genetics and prenatal genetics providers. Three full service clinical biochemical genetics and cytogenetics labs are on-site as part of the institution, as is a clinical diagnostic and translational genomics laboratory.
The new faculty member will also have an appointment in the Interdepartmental Program in Personalized and Genomic Medicine in the School of Medicine (http://medschool.umaryland.edu/genetics/) The University of Maryland has graduate programs in Epidemiology and Human Genetics, and Genomic Medicine as well as an accredited Genetic Counseling training program.
